Taman Ayun Temple


Taman Ayun temple is situated in the village of Mengwi, Badung regency. Distance of approximately 18km North West towards the city of Denpasar.

This temple is one of the most beautiful temples in Bali. This temple has a structure typical of Bali, which is shaped Meru or terraced roof, also surrounded by a lake (pond). Pool here has a width of almost 10 meters. Ticket price to enter the Taman Ayun is Rp. 3000/pax

Temple complex is divided into 3 different pages. Which is one higher than the other 3 that symbolizes nature, namely; subconscious (bhur), the middle of nature (Bvah), and a natural upper (Svah).

Each page linked by the gate. The third page is a page that is considered the most sacred, because of the activities carried out there praying on this page and also some Meru and other sacred buildings located there.

Every 210 days to be exact every Tuesday POND Medangsia, the whole community celebrates Mengwi piodalan (Ceremony) for several days worshiping God with all its manifestations. The first page is called Jaba which can be achieved only by passing through the only gate bridge and pond. Once inside there is a small monument to guard the entrance and to the right there is a vast building (wantilan) where cockfighting is often held during the ceremony. On this page, there is also a memorial fountain to succumb to the 9 direction of the wind.

While heading to the next page, to the right of the road there is a small temple complex at Pura name Luhuring Purnama. Page into two, its position higher up from the first page to go to this page, visitors must pass through the second gate. Once inside, the view will be on a building facade Pengubengan Bale is decorated with reliefs depict Gods Nawa Sanga. To the east of this page there is a small temple called Pura Dalem Bekak, whereas in the west corner there is a towering Kulkul Hall. The third page is the highest and most sacred. The most central bight door will be opened when there is a ceremony, where the entry and exit statues and other ceremonial equipment. While the gate is on the left right is to go out everyday activities in the temple.
